Manchester City star Sergio Agüero has reached another milestone, scoring the same number of goals for the Citizens as Arsenal legend Thierry Henry did for the Gunners. The Argentine hitman has netted 228 times for the Manchester side – but needed 48 games fewer to match the Frenchman’s mark.
The free scoring Argentine has arguably been the finest striker to set foot in the English top flight in the past decade, regularly tormenting opposition defenses since arriving from Atletico Madrid in a £38 million deal in 2011.
Agüero, 30, capitalized on Joe Bryan’s mistake and bagged his 19th Premier League goal of the season after a set-up from Bernardo Silva to seal the 2-0 victory over the Cottagers. City reached an easy win against Fulham.
In almost eight seasons at Manchester City, Agüero has never been voted Premier League Player of the Year or even made the Team of the Season. And earlier this week, the Independent voted him the 10th best player in Premier League history.
Very close o Henry
Agüero still has fewer Premier League goals, however, but is on course to overtake him if he continues scoring at the same rate. Henry hit 175 for the Gunners while Agüero currently has 162.
